A letter to Mrs. Quan, mayor of Oakland

Dear Jean Quan,

As a resident of Alameda county and active participator in the marketplace of ideas I believe it is your time to resign and yield the position of mayor to Joseph Tuman. He is by far the most knowledgable candidate in politics and a practicing lawyer of civic policy. He also demonstrates outstanding leadership unlike yourself. Please address:

Is it fun for you to jerk around the O.P.D.? Law enforcement is accustomed to obeying direct orders. Please send the Oakland Cops a clear, consistant message that is in line with the Bill of Rights.

Will you please make up you darn mind about how to handle the Frank Ogawa plaza protest? Decisiveness is a necessary attribute of any governor and you have completely failed to do so. Why tell the OPD to attend to the protesters if you also hope to stop their free speech? If they must leave then be swift and do not torture them with flash-bangs, tear-gas, night-stick beatings, bean-bag and rubber ammos, or other scare tactics.

Are you familiar with the USA history of the constitution? I noticed your light English accent so I assume you are 1st generation to America, so I feel you ought to know something. We fight for our first 10 ammendments. Freedom of speech is never to be compromised in our borders. I understand that Ogawa plaza is now a crime scene after the tragedy only a few days ago. But even before this you took action to squash the movement know as Occupy Wall Street.

What exactly is your experience as a person in a position of leadership? You have been, and continue to do, a piss-poor job of running your city.

Are you open minded what-so-ever? You were in fact nominated last week due to the multi-tier resort. This demonstrates that you fall short of a majority. Please consider that the democracy of Oakland has spoken and told you that you are not good enough.
